About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated M&E Manager to oversee the delivery of mechanical and electrical services at one of London’s most prestigious landmarks. As the M&E Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the building’s technical services, ensuring smooth and compliant maintenance, and overseeing a team of engineers and subcontractors. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across internal tenants ,and external clients, particularly in relation to exhibitions and events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Services Management: Oversee the delivery of both reactive and planned preventative maintenance across all mechanical and electrical systems, including lifts, air handling systems,  heating, lighting, fire safety systems, UPS, drainage, and more.
  • Exhibitions & Events Support: Collaborate with exhibition teams to deliver technical services for events, ensuring seamless coordination and high-quality outcomes.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance, inspections, and records are in compliance with statutory and regulatory standards, managing audits and health & safety inspections as required.
  • Performance & Financial Management: Drive performance through effective leadership, regular KPI monitoring, and  budget management. Ensure cost control, financial performance, and value for money are maintained across all technical services.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of maintenance engineers, fostering a positive work environment, conducting regular performance reviews, and supporting training and development.
  • Health & Safety Management: Maintain the highest standards of health and safety, ensuring all works comply with regulations and are performed safely.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong communication with tenants, and external clients, ensuring that service delivery is of the highest standard and any issues are promptly addressed.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within demanding, multi-disciplined environments.
  • Proven experience managing building maintenance services in a complex environment (preferably with mechanical, electrical, gas, refrigeration, and pressurised systems).
  • Strong understanding of building management systems and statutory compliance (L8, IOSH, etc.).
  • Financial management experience, including budget oversight and cost control.
  • Experience managing performance through KPIs and overseeing maintenance services via CAFM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high-pressure situations.
  • A relevant professional qualification and IOSH (Health and Safety) certification.
Desirable:
  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience in heritage buildings or similar iconic locations.
  • Knowledge of supporting exhibitions and events.
  • Experience in wider facilities services, including managing sub-contractors and vendor relationships.
