
About The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and technically skilled Estates & Technical Services Manager to join a leading institution. Reporting to the Director of Estates, you will manage a dedicated maintenance team and work alongside other estates professionals to ensure the smooth running of a diverse portfolio of buildings.
This is a key role for a candidate with experience in managing complex listed buildings, maintenance projects, and decarbonisation strategies. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering world-class facilities and supporting the development of the Maintenance, Health & Safety, and Facilities Management functions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead a team in delivering efficient and high-quality building maintenance services, including refurbishments and minor alterations.
· Develop and implement long-term maintenance plans, condition surveys, and life cycle strategies.
· Support the decarbonisation of the estate and energy reduction initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations, including CDM 2015, and lead regular site audits.
· Oversee the development and management of CAFM systems, including setting KPIs, SLAs, and monitoring performance.
· Provide technical advice on construction projects and manage contractors to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
· Contribute to the development of estates strategies and policies, ensuring continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Experience:
· Professionally qualified in estates management(e.g., MRICS, MCIOB).
· Strong knowledge of building surveying, maintenance planning, and lifecycle management.
· Experience working with CAFM systems and implementing them strategically.
· Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH) and experience in managing construction site safety.
· Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
· Experience in a higher education or cultural sector is desirable.
