Sodexo’s Defence segment, which is dedicated to providing essential services to military establishments, required a highly skilled Contract Technical Services Manager to oversee the technical services at Colchester Garrison’s Merville Barracks. The Challenge
Sodexo needed a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of technical services management within a defence environment, particularly under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement like the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). The ideal candidate had to possess extensive experience in managing large-scale technical services, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering projects. The role also required someone with strong leadership abilities to manage a team of 44 employees, ensure compliance with strict health and safety regulations, and maintain close working relationships with multiple senior stakeholders, including the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and RMPA (Royal Military Police Association).
