Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is a leading commercial property and real estate consultancy in the UK and Ireland. With a strong presence in the facilities management sector, LSH is dedicated to delivering high standards of service across its diverse portfolio, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and statutory regulations.
The Challenge
LSH needed to fill the crucial role of Building Manager for The Capital Building, a key commercial property within their portfolio. This role required a candidate with a strong background in facilities management, particularly in the context of property management consultancy. The successful candidate would need to manage a complex portfolio of properties, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, overseeing staff and contractors, and maintaining the high standards LSH is known for.
The challenge was not just to find a candidate with the right skills and experience but also someone who could align with LSH’s commitment to excellence and their strategic goals in facilities management. The role demanded a multifaceted professional capable of navigating the complexities of property management, from financial oversight to health and safety compliance.
Solution & Outcome
Our team were entrusted with the task of finding the ideal candidate for this high-stakes role. Our process began with a thorough understanding of LSH’s requirements, including the technical skills needed, the importance of compliance with health and safety regulations, and the ability to manage a team effectively across multiple sites.
We leveraged our extensive network within the facilities management industry and employed a rigorous selection process to identify candidates who not only met the technical requirements but also fit the culture and strategic vision of LSH.
After an extensive search, we successfully placed an experienced Building Manager who met all the criteria outlined by LSH. The candidate brought over three years of relevant experience in facilities management, with a background in property management consultancy, making them an excellent fit for the role.
The new Building Manager quickly integrated into the LSH team, taking responsibility for the efficient management of The Capital Building. They successfully implemented best practices across the site, ensuring compliance with all statutory and health and safety requirements. Moreover, they enhanced the operational efficiency of the building by optimising contract management and improving tenant liaison, which were key aspects of the role.
