The Challenge
Informa sought a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance and facilities services at their central London offices, Maple House and KNect House. The role required ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective provision of services, acting as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, and maintaining high standards across all operations. Key responsibilities included:
• Overseeing maintenance, security, cleaning, waste management, and grounds management.
• Managing a team of service coordinators and front-of-house staff.
• Handling all health and safety matters, including policy formulation and compliance.
• Managing statutory compliance and ensuring adherence to best practices and legal requirements.
• Participating in internal audits and business continuity planning.
• Negotiating and managing facilities suppliers and contracts.
• Effectively communicating with internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate needed to have previous experience in managing office facilities, proven team management experience, relevant IOSH qualification and training, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong prioritisation and project management skills.
