Background
We placed an FM Consultant with Babcock International, overseeing facilities management across four sites for the Defence Support Group (DSG), a key contributor to Babcock's £200m business turnover.
Role Responsibilities
• FM Service Delivery: Managed both Hard & Soft FM services for industrial production buildings, warehouses, and corporate facilities.
• Financial Management: Held full P&L responsibility, ensuring best value and commercial awareness in FM contracts to minimize contractual penalties.
• Contract Management: Successfully re-mobilised FM contracts, implementing comprehensive staff reviews, best value assessments for subcontractors, and continuous improvement plans to enhance service delivery and achieve contractual compliance.
• Project Management: Led building refurbishment projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
• Client Relationship: Rebuilt trust with the MOD client, resulting in the release of £0.5m in outstanding works previously on hold.
Results and Achievements
Through strategic management and proactive measures, our placement optimised FM service delivery and financial performance but also strengthened client relationships, positioning Babcock International for sustained success in facilities management.
• Operational Efficiency: Managed Help Desk operations to prioritise and complete all work orders within KPIs, thereby eliminating financial penalties for service failures.
• Staff Management: Oversaw 40+ direct staff, service providers, and subcontractors, including recruitment of a new FM Manager and facilitating a smooth handover process to ensure client satisfaction.
